Got the 5oz daily lunch special. It was good but sauce could be more flavourful. Large portion. Had a hard time choosing from so many options and most of which are very large. 8oz plug average. Made fresh, sauce was also very fresh and hand delivered to you where you sit for take out etc. Great halal option in the city if you’re looking for a burger.

Was looking at places to grab a bite and stumbled upon Grill Gate. Saw their sandwich pictures on their menu and website and it looked amazing. Ordered the grilled chicken and Philly cheese steak and they matched the pictures perfectly. The taste also matched how good the pictures looked. It did not disappoint. Wanted to take the sandwiches in the elevator because they were next level!

Literally the best Philly cheesesteak I have ever eaten. This hole in the wall is remarkably excellent. Friendly welcoming service but the food……..I cannot believe how good this sandwich was. Huge portion and just insanely fresh tasting. I’ll be back 100%

If you’re craving a seriously satisfying burger in Toronto, Grill Gate deserves a spot at the top of your list. I stopped by recently, and the experience was impressive from start to finish.
The burger was the star of the show—juicy, flavourful, and clearly made with care. The chips and fries were just as memorable: crispy, well‑seasoned, and served hot. It’s the kind of comfort food that hits the spot without feeling rushed or generic.
The service matched the quality of the food. Friendly, attentive staff made the visit feel welcoming, and everything came out quickly without sacrificing quality.
Overall, Grill Gate delivers exactly what you want from a great burger joint: delicious food, generous portions, and warm service. Whether you’re a local or just passing through the area, it’s absolutely worth stopping in. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a top‑tier burger experience.

I’ve been wanting to try Grill Gate for years but just never got around to it. This time, while doing laundry next door at the coin laundry, I finally stopped in for dinner and I’m really glad I did. The food was exceptional. Shoutout to the two ladies working there for their amazing service. Even though it’s a franchise, the plating and overall quality of the food were phenomenal. The customer service was excellent, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by and trying the Philly cheesesteak, just maybe not too often, since it’s definitely on the indulgent side
Where GrillGate Was Born ❤️
832 Sheppard Avenue West
February 10, 2018. This is where the GrillGate story began.
In this small, cozy restaurant, we tested, perfected, and launched our very first gourmet burgers and our unique take on the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The menu was simple — just a few incredible burgers, a few signature sandwiches, our crispy coated fries, and our special sauce. But the response was anything but small.
From the very beginning, the lineups, the excitement, and the stories started here. What began as a simple idea quickly became something much bigger. The success of our first location gave us the confidence to expand, and within just a few months, we made the decision to open another location — with our second GrillGate opening within the following year.
This little restaurant is where it all started. The place where the GrillGate concept was born, where our recipes came to life, and where so many of the memories that shaped GrillGate began.
And after all these years, 832 Sheppard Avenue West will always be home.
